OLEDCOMM Discussed Their Latest LiFi Innovations and Next Challenges With François Sorel on BFM Business Tech & Co

Oledcomm Interview

Benjamin Azoulay, president and founder of Oledcomm, was invited as a guest on BFM Business Tech & Co. He was interviewed by François Sorel, a French journalist and broadcaster present on RMC , BFM Business and Tech & Co. They discussed on Oledcomm latest LiFi innovations and their next challenges.

Here are some of the highlights, LiFi tech News has taken from the interview:

1) Oledcomm reconfirmed their interest in any environment where WiFi is prohibited, often for cybersecurity reasons.

2) WiFi poses too many cybersecurity problems for the military to install it on its premises.

3) Oledcomm introduced their first two-gigabit-per-second, point-to-point product (LiFiMAX2G) with a 25-degree opening angle.

4) They are also aiming in releasing a LiFi system with up to four gigabits per second by the end of this year.

5) Their dream is to have commercial LiFi systems running at up to 100 Gbps by 2025.

Benjamin Azoulay, stated the following:

“So just a reminder, LiFi is a wireless optical communication, that is to say that we will use LEDs that will flash at very high speed 30 million times per second, 30 MHz to connect to the Internet or simply to communicate at very high speed.”

“We have developed a chip that will eventually allow Wi-Fi to be integrated into smartphones. It takes a little bit of time, but we are starting to have industrial ruggedized tablets that are starting to integrate this technology like a tablet from the company Getac.”

“At CES in Las Vegas, we introduced our first two-gigabit-per-second, point-to-point product with a 25-degree opening angle. We'll probably be over four gigabits per second by the end of the year, so it's going pretty fast. And our dream is to be at 100 gigabits per second by 2025.”
