African Exhibition of Technological Invention and Innovation (SAIIT)
Mr Ange Frederick Balma, Founder and CEO of LIFILED Côte d'Ivoire and SINILUX won the EPO (European Patent Office) prize at the 9th edition African Exhibition of Technological Invention and Innovation (SAIIT).
His patented invention number 06BR/2021, entitled: "Integrated LiFi Smart Light Bulb", has garnered the prestigious award of the best technological innovation for sustainable development.
Balma's patented invention, numbered 06BR/2021, isn't merely an ordinary light bulb. It's an embodiment of LiFi technology, which uses light to transmit data at high speeds, rather than the conventional radio waves used by Wi-Fi. But Balma's invention takes this technology a step further. The Integrated LiFi Smart Light Bulb incorporates smart technology with some elements of the LiFi world.

Mr. Ange Frederick Balma also thanked Marie Flore BATIONO, the OAPI (African Intellectual Property Office), the European Patent Office for the sustainable development of his patent and the diligent efforts of his LIFILED team.
Souleymane Diarrassouba, Ivorian Minister of Commerce, Industry, and the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises, spoke during the opening ceremony of the 9th edition of the African Innovation and Innovative Business Fair (SAIIT) in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire, 24 July 2023. The African expo took place between the 24th to 27th of July 2023 and was organised by the African Intellectual Property Organization (AOPI), in collaboration with the Ivorian government. Ivory Coast, one of the 17 member countries of AOPI was selected for the 2023 edition of this event. This edition focused on Intellectual Property, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship.
