Oledcomm LiFi Solutions Set to Launch Aboard Ariane 6 in Early July 2024

This July, the Ariane 6 rocket is set to make history with its first upcoming flight. But it's not just the rocket that's breaking new ground. Ariane 6 will be the first rocket to integrate Li-Fi technology. It is an experiment that could revolutionise space communication.

The brains behind this amazing accomplishment is Oledcomm, a French company born from the innovative minds at Paris-Saclay University. Their experiment, no larger than a smartphone, consists of two "SatelLiFe" modules chatting with each other via light beams as Ariane 6 soars into the sky.

The implications are huge. Imagine satellites that can communicate between their internal systems without wires, or space stations with interference-free wireless networks. The Ariane 6 experiment is just the first step towards these possibilities.

Benjamin Azoulay, Oledcomm's CEO, can barely contain his excitement: "This is a world first... enabling us to demonstrate the robustness of LiFi systems and plan for future integration onto other missions, rockets, satellites and spacecraft."

For the Oledcomm team, this isn't just a tech demo - it's a dream come true. As software developer Maxime L'huillier puts it, "It's almost a childhood dream that I am realising: working for the European launcher Ariane 6!"
