On Monday 11th December 2023, President Emmanuel Macron visited the Airbus facility in Toulouse to commemorate the 2-year anniversary of the launch of France 2030, a €54 billion investment initiative. Benjamin Azoulay, CEO of Oledcomm, which specialises in LiFi technology, has been invited by the president to attend the event at Airbus. The plan, announced post-COVID, aims to revive France's global competitiveness against rivals like the U.S. and China by developing technologies, industry, and research.

At Airbus, Macron reviewed the progress on France 2030-funded projects, especially those working towards aviation decarbonisation. As one of the world's leading aircraft manufacturers, Airbus highlights the plan's goal of keeping France at the forefront of aerospace innovation. The president met with France 2030 grant recipients from the Occitanie region across various sectors like aging research.

Over 470 projects in Occitanie have already benefited from France 2030 funding. By targeting diverse areas, from aeronautics to healthcare, the investment plan aligns with Macron's recent "full employment" program presented to the Council of Ministers.

Beyond assessing initial results, Macron revealed 4 to 8 new challenges to add to the original 10 goals set out at the plan's launch. With half of the budget already invested over the 5-year initiative, the visit took stock of early progress while expanding its ambitions.

The Occitanie projects showcase how France 2030, while boosting industry competitiveness, also aims to foster job creation and improve lives. Macron has said the plan is about "living better and producing better." Monday's visit measured its advancement and map out its future.
